Trained Australian Labradoodle Puppies
Since 2020, River Days has helped dozens of trained Australian Labradoodle puppies transition into wonderful homes across the country. Our development and training programs provide additional support with socialization, crate training, confidence, manners, and age-appropriate early obedience before coming home.
Our puppy development options are developmental programs first and training programs second. We focus on building the confidence, resilience, adaptability, engagement, manners, and social skills that create the foundation for an exceptional family dog—and, for some, future therapy work.
Age-appropriate obedience is introduced throughout this process, with expectations tailored to each puppy’s individual temperament, maturity, and stage of development. Puppies develop at different rates and bring different natural strengths and personalities to the process. We believe early training should respect the individual puppy rather than prioritize a predetermined checklist of behaviors. Our focus during puppyhood is on building the developmental foundation that supports more advanced training as the dog matures.
Availability beyond 8 weeks is intentionally limited, allowing us to provide each puppy with highly individualized care and attention.
River Days is in Central North Carolina and serves families throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Burlington, Charlotte, and beyond. Our trained Labradoodle puppies also join families across the country, including New York City, Miami, and throughout South Florida. Transportation and flight nanny services can be coordinated when appropriate.
All programs include age-appropriate veterinary care and core puppy vaccinations while in our care.

River Days Puppy
8 weeks | $4,100 total | $500 reservation fee
Every River Days Australian Labradoodle puppy goes home with an exceptional start in life, beginning with thoughtfully selected multigenerational Australian Labradoodle lines, extensive health testing of our parent dogs, careful selection for temperament, and our comprehensive eight-week puppy development curriculum.
Many of our lines include Certified Therapy Dogs and dogs successfully working or training as Service Dogs.
Transition Camp
10–12 weeks | $650/week additional | $250 reservation fee
An additional 2–4 weeks with River Days designed to help bridge the transition from litter life to family life.
Beginning at 8 weeks, campers transition to individual overnight crate training and routine daytime crating. We continue building independence, confidence, social skills, household manners, age-appropriate potty habits, name recognition, and early leash skills.
Puppies also receive thoughtfully managed socialization and desensitization, including age-appropriate public outings and new experiences.
Basic obedience concepts such as come, sit, down, stay, crate, and off are introduced as appropriate for each individual puppy.
To reserve space in our Transition Camp, you may communicate your request at any time, including the application and interview stage or while awaiting your puppy.
Extended Development
15 weeks | $10,000 total | $1,000 reservation fee
Continued individualized development with River Days through the puppy’s final core puppy vaccinations.
For families seeking additional developmental support before bringing their puppy home, Extended Development builds on the Transition Camp foundation with expanded socialization, confidence and independence, early distraction work, continued age-appropriate potty habits, and increasing consistency with foundational obedience skills, including leash work, come, sit, down, stay, crate, and off.
Most importantly, this program gives each puppy additional time to grow, mature, and develop important life skills within our carefully managed home environment before transitioning to their family.
Foundation Training
20–23 weeks | $15,800–$17,900 total | $2,000 reservation fee
Our most comprehensive trained Australian Labradoodle puppy program combines extended developmental work with River Days through approximately 17 weeks, followed by 3 weeks of individualized work with our professional trainer.
Using positive reinforcement-based training methods, the program continues to build confidence, social skills, structure, boundaries, engagement, age-appropriate potty habits, and early obedience, while also incorporating areas of focus based on each puppy’s individual needs and the family’s priorities and goals (e.g., therapy work, city life, water). Puppies also work on increasing duration and reliability around distractions, real-world application of learned skills, and appropriate public outings.
Training priorities are individualized according to each puppy’s temperament, maturity, and our trainer’s professional assessment.
The goal is not to produce a “finished” five-month-old dog. It is to give each puppy the strongest possible developmental and training foundation for life as a confident, well-adjusted, and beloved family dog.
For families searching for trained puppies because they would like additional support beyond the traditional eight-week puppy experience, Foundation Training provides our highest level of early development and professional training while still respecting the developmental needs of a young dog.
Advanced Obedience Training
8–10+ months | Available directly through our trainer
Puppies completing our Foundation Training Program go home to their families at approximately 20–23 weeks, allowing important time to continue growing, maturing, and bonding with their family.
Beginning around 8–10 months of age, Foundation Training graduates may return to our professional trainer for customized advanced obedience work. Training is tailored to the individual dog and family and may include advanced obedience, increased reliability around distractions, and preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification (CGC) test.
Families interested in pursuing therapy work can use this advanced training as an important next step toward the obedience and handling skills required for therapy dog certification.
